first day in Bucharest Romania

After about 12 hours of travel we got picked up by motor coach at the airport in Bucharest along with about 25 others that arrived from various places.  We think there are a total of 180 on our long boat named the Viking Rinda.  Tonight we are at the very lovely Radisson Blu in down town Bucharest. We got here around 3;30 checked in washed up and headed out for a walk on our own in the old city. The formal part of the tour starts tomorrow when everyone eventually arrives.  The old city is bustling with locals and tourists wandering , eating and drinking. Along the way we past but did not go into the art museum, checked out a few tiny churches, had a beer and went out to dinner at a classic Romanian restaurant called Vatra and had stuffed cabbage and meat stew with polenta ending with a layered cake. Yum.

Looking forward to our first tour day of the city tomorrow. Many of the people in the group are older than us we think. We met one woman from Chelsea that is younger than us.  so far...
