Bulgarian Belogradchik

we saw at a high elevation some fantastic rock formations that had a fortress built into them. it is called Belogradchik.they are limestone rocks that are 650 feet high in a strip a mile wide and 18 miles long. and the view from the top up 500 steps was fantastic. each rock formation has a diferent name for what they look like.. there are all sorts of stories about people turning to stone in local folklore.

we had the afternnon back in Vida where the ship was docked and   after lunch we wandered along the prominade near the river to the ruins of a synogue and a fortress.

we came back to more local dancing but the best part was after a q& A from an 18 year old boy and girl from Bulgaria. They were nice kids and it was an interesting chat.

we had dinner with our Viking Rinda friend group again and had tons of laughs and we made a team for a trivia contest.  We lost. but the game was fun but hard.  there were 8 questions. they played a piece of music that you had to idendify what country it was from. they they asked a question about that country. and if you had a team member or more dance to the music you got an extra point.

amazing lightening storm tonight . I hope it stops tomorrow as we are all day on the ship passing through locks and the iron curtain.  will tell you about that tomorrow.

people on this ship have sure traveled the world.
