Paris last day and Berlin Friday

Hi Anne thanks for catching us up. Everyone else thanks for following us. When we get home we will post a few photos as we are taking tons.

Our last day in Paris. After so much walking we decided to take the train more today first, off to the Rodin museum which we enjoyed. We walked over to the garden de Tuileries and ate in the park. The kids went into the fun house as Jim and I enjoyed the park. (not exactly Parisian but they had fun)Jesse's pick next, the Pompidou a modern art museum in a hip part of the city. Took the train again. Just Jesse and Laurie went in while Emily and Jesse caught a mime act in the plaza and Emily got here portrait drawn. The museum was very dif. Than French impressionism but still great. We caught more street performances then headed off to have a beer and some food in a cafe in Marais. Could not leave with out that falafel too.

Suddenly at 6:50 we realized our train left at 8:20 not 10:20. (So much for understanding military time.) we ran to the subway and squeezed on hoping to get back to our hotel and catch the subway in time to catch our train to Berlin. We Did!but it was a nerve raking ride.

Jim had taking the night train on his bucket list. He can check that off now as that is how we got to Berlin from Paris. It was an interesting experience. A sleep car with 6 bunks we had it to our selves. The kid slept well at the very top and kind of slept on the bottom. The whole train car shared one tiny bathroom. It started our clean but by am yuck.

Took the subway to near our hotel. A very modern hotel with a giant fish tank in the center. Cool. We needed to slow down a bit so ate lunch, we napped a bit and the kids swam. Off for our fat tire bike tour of Berlin at 4. it was really fun. Big ole city cruiser bikes. Our tour guide a history major and musician from Toronto. We learned a ton of Berlin history and saw all the big sites. 5 hours long but about 6 miles as we stopped often for a history lesson. We stopped at a beer garden for a bite and a beer. There we lots of interesting guys on our tour form all over the world. More tomorrow good night.
