Paris at last

Here we are in Paris at last. We have just eaten breakfast at our hotel de lys. Our travel here was at night with not more than two +hours of sleep. Even with that and a train ride to the city we lasted all day to wander the city. We dropped off our bags, walked by Notre Dame (line too long)and went to the luxenberg gardens. We were too tired and hungry to walk the whole way so stopped at a cafe for a small meal. A lovely way to see the city at a street side cafe. We then went to the luxenberg gardens, one of the most beautiful gardens you could see. Not so much the flowers as the setting. Jesse had a crepe,we saw chidren launching small sail boats in the pond, and sat in chairs doing more people watching. From there we figured we'd better keep going or our park nap would last all night. We checked our map and sought out to find the Jewish street of marais, past notre dame and beyond. We got within one block and stopped for a terrific dinner. It is a colorful place. Street musicians played in front of us, wild looking locals wandered by and we were interuoted by a loud paint colored drunk who turned out to be a famous artist named Michael Mulcahy (look him up)finally we realized we were only one block from our destination. So... We wandered through. Maybe falafel tomorrow. Off we go to the de orsay and more....
