Today we went to Salem the witch town. First we met our friend Sarah and her daughter Asley who if in this picture. They are visiting from Ecuador. Then we saw a theatrical performance that reinacted the questioning of a towns woman named Britget Bishop accused of being a witch in 1692.
The actors had the audience ask question of the towns people that testified against Bishop. They were very good and the play was very interactive. It was a good way to learn the history of the witch trials.
When we were waitin for Jim to meet us for lunch we went to a haunted house. Anne skipped this one only the crazy others went through. Really Emily and Ashley wanted to go but the begged Jesse to go with them. Jim finally arrived and we went to a dinner style good place for lunch. The kids sat at thier own table.
We had a nice walk even though it was very very hot! We cut through an old cemetary and searched for the oldest, and youngest person that died and the oldest grave. 1674 oldest grave, 92 year old man, and a 1 and 3 months and 8 days (youngest)
We walked to the harbor , stopped in a few little shops and then had some smoothies before we came home.
after dinner some cousins came to visit. The dad is from Marseille. They were very energetic kids. But fun. We may have them come to Boston with us on Tuesday. Off to bed because early in the morning we leave for a day trip to the beach on Cape cod.
